چکیده

Spectrum sensing is one of the key topics towards the implementation of future wireless services like SuperWiFi. This new wireless proposal aims at using the freed spectrum resulting from the analog-todigital transition of TV channels for wireless data transmission (UHF TV White Spaces). The benefits range from better building penetration to longer distances when compared to the set of IEEE 802.11 standards. Nevertheless, the effective use of the available spectrum is subject to strict regulation that prohibits unlicensed users to interfere with incumbents (like wireless microphones). Cognitive Radios (CR) and dynamic spectrum allocation are suggested to cope with this problem. These techniques consist on frequency sweeps of the TV-UHF band to detect White Spaces that could be used for SuperWiFi transmissions. In this paper we develop and implement algorithms from GNURadio in the Ettus USRPE110 to build a standalone White Spaces detector that can be consulted from a centralized location via IP networks.

DDSAT: Distributed Dynamic Spectrum Access Protocol Implementation Using GNURadio and USRP

Frequency spectrum is one of the valuable resources in wireless communications. Using cognitive radio, spectrum efficiency will increase by making use of the spectrum holes. Dynamic Spectrum Access techniques allows secondary users to transmit on an empty channel not used by a primary user for a given time. In this paper, a Distributed Dynamic Spectrum Access based TDMA protocol (DDSAT) is desi...

Spectrum Sensing using USRP SDRs and Convolutional Neural Networks

Current allocation of the spectral bands to only licensed users leads to inefficiencies in spectrum utilization. Designing realistic cognitive radios that are capable of sensing spectrum holes is the key to solve this problem and to increase the capacity of next-generation wireless networks. In this paper, we propose convolutional neural networks for predicting the spectrum holes from a data se...

Spectrum Sensing Measurement using GNU Radio and USRP Software Radio Platform

Spectrum utilization can be significantly improved by adopting cognitive radio (CR) technology. Such radios are able to sense the spectral environment and use this information to opportunistically provide wireless links that meet the user communications requirements optimally. To achieve the goal of cognitive radio, it is a fundamental requirement that the cognitive user (CU) performs spectrum ...

Efficient Spectrum Sensing/monitoring Methods and Testbed Development for Cognitive Radio Based Wsn

In this work, we propose an efficient spectrum sensing technique based on Doubly Cognitive Architecture (DCA) and an efficient spectrum monitoring technique based on partial spectrum sensing. In addition to this, we have developed a one of its kind testbed for Cognitive Radio-based wireless sensor network (CRWSN), where the proposed techniques are successfully implemented and tested. The testbe...
